Despite a recession and turmoil in the publishing industry, Greenleaf Book Group celebrated its ninth bestseller this year. The company attributes its success to an innovative author-centric model, which allows authors to retain their rights while giving them a higher royalty structure, competitive distribution, and strong marketing support. Says Clint Greenleaf, CEO of Greenleaf Book Group, "We offer our authors the quality, distribution power, and experience of a major publisher and the ownership and financial advantages of self-publishing." Greenleaf's innovative model appeals to authors and experts looking to use the credibility of a book to build their brand. As a result, Greenleaf has attracted many notable names, including John Gray, Daymond John, and Kanye West.

The Inc. 5000 list serves as an example of the impact private companies have on the economy. The list highlights the fastest-growing private companies, those firms responsible for much of the job and revenue growth that positively affects the market today. Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), the nation's oldest children's literacy organization, and US Airways (NYSE: LCC) announced they have teamed up to kick-off the third year of "Fly with US. Read with Kids.®," a program designed to demonstrate the importance of reading with young children. A key component of the program will include the Read with Kids Challenge, where participants can log the amount of minutes they spend reading to children. The nationwide goal is to achieve 10 million minutes between September 1 and October 31. Readers can register to participate and log the number of minutes they read to children on an ongoing basis at www.rif.org/readwithkids.

"Reading, much like flying, takes you on journeys to new places and helps you discover new worlds. By partnering with RIF, US Airways is honored to help children in the communities where our employees live and work discover the joy of reading and provide them with a better foundation for academic and economic success. Because of our past successful Read with Kids Challenges, we've increased our goal, but I know we can reach it by working together," said Doug Parker, chairman and CEO of US Airways.

Since the partnership first launched in 2008, US Airways and RIF have helped log a combined total of 14 million minutes read with children as part of the Read with Kids Challenge.

RIF encourages children to experience reading as a fun daily activity to help foster early childhood literacy development. The launch of this year's RIF-US Airways partnership coincides with the beginning of the new school year and is a timely reminder that September is National Literacy Month. The Read with Kids Challenge helps promote recreational reading habits that prepare students to achieve more in school and life.

"Motivating children to read at an early age is critical to developing successful students, and RIF is pleased to partner with US Airways to get more communities reading," said Carol H. Rasco, president and CEO of RIF. "Each year, RIF sets a high goal to achieve during the Read with Kids Challenge, and I'm excited to see our nation strive to reach 10 million minutes of reading with children this year."

As part of the Read with Kids Challenge, participants will be entered to win a grand prize drawing of a Walt Disney World® Resort vacation package from US Airways Vacations, US Airways gift cards, and other weekly giveaways. US Airways, the official airline of RIF, will also reward individuals who join them in supporting RIF. For gifts of $50 or more made through the campaign, US Airways will award the donor up to 5,000 Dividend Miles. Donors can also receive Maisy Takes a Trip, a special edition book by best-selling author Lucy Cousins with a donation of at least $25. To sign up for the challenge or to make a donation, visit www.rif.org/readwithkids. More information will be available on Twitter via @RIFWEB or @USAirways, or RIF's Facebook fan page.

Throughout the duration of the campaign, RIF and US Airways will host reading celebrations in Charlotte, N.C., Philadelphia, and Phoenix. The events will feature a RIF book distribution where children get to choose a book for their own home libraries, family-friendly activities, and read-alouds where US Airways employees will interact with students and families.

Money is important to a vibrant, sustainable economy, yet it doesn't grow on trees - or does it? That's just one of the questions addressed in The Coming Age of Freed Money (Rogem Press, 2010) by J. Moromisato (http://www.DenverPlan.com), a Denver-based writer, scientist, researcher and, now, candidate for the United States Senate. Moromisato, who has a doctorate in high energy physics and a master's in economics, has developed a fresh approach to economics in his new book, which likens an economy to an organism that's sustained and fortified by the circulation of money.

In The Coming Age of Freed Money, Moromisato explores traditional funding processes, business cycles, and the consequences of key fiscal behaviors in wealthy and poor countries alike. Deciphering complex causes behind the Industrial Revolution, financial bubbles, great recession and more, Moromisato solves what he calls critical, contemporary "economic mysteries."

"The Federal Reserve possesses the capacity to create unlimited amounts of money, as if it grows on trees, yet the economy is continually at the mercy of this dysfunctional system," Moromisato says. "The Coming Age of Freed Money proposes a new monetary system in which financial institutions would not be allowed to create money. Instead, they would be obliged to lend only funds borrowed from the Fed. Consequently, the Fed would then recover its exclusive power, constitutionally mandated, to create and control the flow of money/credit throughout the nation."

Moromisato's terms his solution "Freed Money," a new money technology that's based on a Full Reserve Lending (FRL) paradigm. An "organic solution," Freed Money applies to innumerable monetary systems in countries big and small, rich and poor, according to Moromisato. With FRL, banks may maintain a 100-percent reserve on all deposits, borrow all their lending funds from the Fed and continue holding assets.

In addition to outlining his new money technology in The Coming Age of Freed Money, Moromisato has incorporated his solution into "The Denver Plan" a comprehensive strategy to end unemployment. Moromisato will use this plan as his candidacy platform for U.S. Senator, running against Michael Bennet.

The Coming Age of Freed Money is available at Barnes & Noble and Amazon. For more information about Moromisato's candidacy, visit http://www.jmoromisatoussenate.com.

New author Bonar Crump is finding his book, Throwing Hammers: Separation of Church and Self, is creating quite a stir. Ranked #9 on Amazon.com's Hot New Releases list in June, Crump's book covers a controversial topic that is making headline news everywhere. World-renowned author and researcher, George Barna, is asking about "The Crisis of Confidence in the Church" and major news outlets are interviewing prominent author Anne Rice about her recent declaration to, "Quit Christianity in the Name of Christ."

"Those of us that have been paying attention the last 10 years have noticed significant rumblings in the distance concerning Christianity, relevance of the Christian church, and the overwhelming sense that change is coming. The recent denouncements of Christian religion in favor of a direct relationship with Christ by authors like Anne Rice and Carol Harper signal that the birth pains of this provocative message are at hand," Crump said.

Crump has been receiving support across the nation. One Atlanta-based motivational speaker, Joann Corley, posted a quote from the book on her Twitter page, "We challenge the 'big dog' or we accept the leash." Bonar Crump.

Crump challenges his readers to ask themselves, "How have we reached a point in which 30 million dollar churches are being built on the South side of town while North-side churches are populated with families who aren't able to feed their children three full meals a day?" One reviewer on Amazon.com claims that Crump's book is, "like a spiritual AED (Automated External Defibrillator). An AED can diagnose a number of potentially life-threatening cardiac problems and treat them with an appropriate amount of electrical therapy. Like an AED, this book can apply its own 'shock' to your spiritual heartbeat." Crump says that the churches that focus on outrageous membership growth, vast campuses and ridiculously expensive sound systems are "making a mockery of Christianity and all that Jesus stands for."

Throwing Hammers: Separation of Church and Self is published by CreateSpace and can be purchased on Amazon.com. For more information about the author or to preview the book, please visit http://www.bonarcrump.com.
